Super Junior-M’s Henry to attend opening of SM merchandise store in Taiwan

It was previously reported that SM Entertainment and Avex Taiwan were teaming up to open an SM Entertainment exclusive merchandise store in Taipei. Avex Taiwan has now announced that the store will be open for fans on July 8, with Super Junior-M’s Henry attending as a guest.

While the store will be open on the 8th, the grand opening is scheduled to occur on the 10th. Only 330 fans will be allowed to purchase merchandise from the store on the 8th, and only 630 fans will be allowed on the 9th. Fans will be let into the stores in groups of 30, and each group is limited to 30 minutes to make purchases.

This store is the first official SM Entertainment merchandise store outside of Korea. The store will feature over 500 items, including posters, fans, shopping bags, as well as other limited edition items only available in Taiwan.

Kim Hyungjoon’s passport photo revealed

On July 6th, Kim Hyungjoon revealed his passport photo on Twitter and said, “Who is this? This is my passport photo from a few years ago.” The passport photo revealed Kim Hyungjoon’s long black hair tucked behind his hair, sharp eyes, and clear skin.

Fans reacted to this photo and said, “Cute,” “He has a consistent look,” “Handsome,” and “He looks the same now as in the past.” Kim Hyungjoon will be in Hong Kong on July 17th and Taiwan on July 24th.

FT Island tops music charts in Taiwan

Recently, FT Island has enjoyed success in both Korea and Japan, as the group’s concerts have sold out in record time. In addition to this success, FT Island is also setting records in Taiwan, with the release of the group’s new mini-album, “RETURN,” on June 24th.

On G-Music’s sales chart, the largest CD sales chart in Taiwan, for the week of June 24th to June 30th, FT Island grabbed the number 1 spot for the Korean and Japanese sales charts with 29% of the total J-Pop and K-Pop sales. Additionally, FT Island also grabbed the number 1 spot on the Combo chart, which combines the sales of all albums from all countries and genres. The group accounted for 8.1% of the total sales, beating out the popular Lady Gaga and Jam Hsiao.

On ezPeer’s weekly singles chart, FT Island managed to grab the number 1 and number 3 spots with “Hello Hello” and “Confession”. On its weekly albums chart, the group ranked 1st for its first week on the chart.

JYJ chosen as ambassadors of KEPCO

JYJ members Kim Jaejoong, Park Yoochun, and Kim Junsu have been named ambassadors of KEPCO, an electricity provider in South Korea. This announcement was made during the company’s music concert held at its headquarters in celebration of its 50th anniversary. A spokesperson from KEPCO expressed, “JYJ’s youth and energy, among other characteristics, are very much in line with what the company wants to have as an image. As such, we have chosen JYJ to be ambassadors.”

Additionally, a spokesperson for JYJ also expressed, “We are motivated to assist KEPCO in promoting its young and futuristic image in order to help the company with its plans to internationalize.” After the announcement, JYJ performed “In Heaven” and “Empty” at the event.

Currently, the members of JYJ are busy with their own schedules. Junsu finished his encore performance of a musical, “Mozart”, on the 3rd, Jaejoong is busy acting in an SBS drama, “Protect the Boss”, and Yoochun is currently featured in ”Miss Ripley”.

ZE:A releases 1st English song “Invincible” for “Ronin Pop” OST

In January, it was revealed that all of the members of ZE:A would be taking part of their first Japanese movie titled “RONIN POP.” In addition to featuring in the movie, ZE:A also contributed to the OST.

ZE:A sings their first released English song titled “Invincible” for “RONIN POP.” “Invincible” is a rock-sounding song, unlike any of their past released songs.

SHINee’s single “Replay ~You are my everything” and KARA’s “Go Go Summer!” certified gold by RIAJ

Following SNSD’s recent certification of double-platinum for their 1st Japanese album “Girls’ Generation,” other groups have been certified Gold for their own Japanese single release. According to the RIAJ, KARA’s 4th Japanese single “Go Go Summer!” and SHINee’s debut Japanese single “Replay ~You are my everything” has achieved Gold status.

KARA released their 4th single on June 29th following their 3rd single “Jet Coaster Love.” The group has proven to be popular in Japan since their debut last year with “Mister.” Since their Japanese debut, they have been breaking numerous records.

SNSD’s juniors, SHINee, have also proven to be successful in Japan. The group signed a contract with EMI Japan and released their debut single on June 29th as well. According to the RIAJ, their debut single has achieved Gold status.

According to RIAJ’s criteria, albums selling 100,000 copies, 250,000 copies, and a million copies are certified Gold, Platinum, and Million respectively.

Meanwhile, SHINee’s Minho and Onew will soon take their leave from MBC Music Core’s MCs due to their oversea schedules.

HITT makes their debut with “Good Night” on Music Bank

HITT released their debut mini-album titled “Here Is The Top” and title music video “Good Night” video today and also makes their first debut stage tonight on KBS Music Bank. HITT is a new male group that is making their debut today and are determined to reach the top with their various vocal skills.

Each of the members has their own roles starting with the leader Hayoung taking care of the powerful vocals, Juntaek as the lead singer, Hyunjun with the clear voice, Howon as the maknae, Wooram as the bass and charming voice of the group, and Jaehoon as the rapper.

Clearly nervous about their first debut stage, the vocals begin on a shaky start before picking up and HITT finishes their performance with a high. What do you think of their debut performance?

AKB48 member Miho Miyazaki shows interest in B1A4

Miho Miyazaki, a member of the popular Japanese girl group AKB48 (Team B), has caught eyes as she showed her interest in the new Korean male group, B1A4. On her Twitter account (@730myao), she wrote on July 6th, “Recently received korean group B1A4’s cd from staff ^_^ please take a listen. It’s a song that’ll make you energetic.”

An agency official said, “They have received the attention of a Japanese girl group. This is a good reaction because it means that people overseas are paying attention to them. The group will work hard and showcase their growth and development in the future.”

Gaon names TVXQ’s “Why (Keep Your Head Down)” most sold album of the year

TVXQ (Yunho, Changmin) made their impending comeback in January of this year with their album and title song “Why (Keep Your Head Down).” According to Gaon, the duo has sold the most amount of albums for the first half of 2011. Between January 1st and June 30th, they have sold 230,922 units of their album, giving them first place in most sold this year. In addition, their repackaged album took 9th place with an additional 55,243 units sold.

Taking 2nd place was Big Bang with their 4th mini-album, which sold 133,051 units, while their special edition album came in 6th place with an additional 83,276 units sold.

BEAST takes 3rd place with their first full-length album “Fiction and Fact,” which sold 111,201 units since its release in May.

SS501 Kim Hyunjoong’s solo mini-album “Break Down” took 4th place with 100,433 units sold, winning him the top solo seller so far this year. The mini-album as released on June 8th sold over 100,000 copies within the first two weeks of release.

Pretty Victoria’s Selca At Music Bank Back Stage

The orange outfit suits her so much but unfortunately she din’t perform in this outfit.Anyway,she seemed to be relaxed at the backstage,her “husband” Nichkhun’s group 2PM won first place on the show today,wonder how will she celebrate with Nichkhun??
